Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family that included musicians. She grew up listening mostly to traditional music, boleros from the past along with the traditional ballads of ranchero and romance. Ana likes tangos as much as opera and other dramatic kinds. The mother of her child taught her to sing, and she began an intensive training in vocals with Flavio Belcerra in the age of 16 when Belcerra was an internationally renowned Mexican opera Tenor. She continued her musical training with the School of Music of Guadalajara University. She then attended the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. In Guadalajara and Mexico City, she was an opera singer in numerous groups and chamber choirs. She sang in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus in the United States before moving to southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private occasions and is a part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. She is involved with many local projects, both as an educator and performer because she is passionate about music and art. Ana is also a past part of the Community Chorus of Redlands, the Inland Master Chorale, and the Performance Loft. Ana is grateful to have the opportunity be able to share her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes to inspire younger generations to keep this tradition living.
