Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. The couple moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five years old and attended at the Dragon School. Emma's goal was to be an actor. When she was 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons on singing, acting, as well as dancing. Through a school play as well as a Stagecoach Production, Emma took the lead at the age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone, the 2001 film version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was identified by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. After eight consecutive auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast to play the three main characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's first film appearance coincided with the release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The highest-grossing movie of 2001 The film broke records for its opening day opening and its opening weekend earnings. Critics praised the film and its performances by the three young stars. The Daily Telegraph in Britain and the Daily Telegraph in America, widely read the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Emma's performance was nominated and won five awards later for the film.
